Hello Fellow Members of the CU!
I'm Marzano and I'm a candidate for the Assembly Speaker Office in the upcoming elections. I am from the Continental Social Democrats where we believe that the people are the ones who should run the region. I've been working for the last year to get the Assembly opened. I've got alot of good ideas for the constitution and setting up the Assembly to work for the people. I look forward to answering any questions you have for me. just reply here.

Bravo, Marzano! What kind of things do you expect to accomplish other than setting up the constitution?

Bravo, Marzano! What kind of things do you expect to accomplish other than setting up the constitution? I want to make the Regional Assembly the focus of power in the regional government structure. I'll be looking to have some powers still held by the Founder's Council shifted to the chancellery and the assembly.

I got one for you. Why aren't you a WA member? Honestly, I could never see the point in doing it. I was in it before and didn't like the back and forth way of approving proposals and then turning around and repealing them. Then they had those security council condemn and commend proposals that I thought were a little ridiculous. This can be the case, and I thought the same thing. I joined to help the region and because I was also an officer. When you represent the region in government, you should be part of things that help to give the region more influence and strength.

Do you have any past experience? In a NationStates situation or regional government, no. I have RL experience in bringing together a group of people and coordinating efforts. I've been a member of our local chamber of commerce and was the chamber president two years ago. I got some collaboration experience from that. I've been involved in organizing the Hispanic Alliance and the CSD. Even though I think those two groups aren't where they should be, we're still growing. I think the CSD is actually bigger than the PC. I helped with some recruiting of members. I think that's a pretty good resume of experience. Like I've mentioned before, I've been trying to rally members for the last year to get this open. Now that it's happened, we need to make sure we take advantage of it.

I shall make comments on the three posts:
#1: You mention you are seeking the delegation of powers, but I do not see that anywhere in your job description. Do you truly know what you are applying for here?
#2: Being part of the WA gives military strength to a region. Though we do not have a formal military as of yet we may have our allies call upon us. Do you not think as an elected official of the region do you not think that you should be willing and able to act on a moments notice?
#3: So you are a part of 2 different groups but are unhappy with the results you've derived from them? Why should we vote for you when you cannot get your own house in order?

#3 is one that makes me scratch my head and think...hmmm. I'd really like to see an answer to that one too.

It's a very standard political question Honestly though it is pretty bad that neither of the two groups are up to Marz's standards. The PC party on the other hand is a well oiled machine.

And that is because you are the king-president for life?

Do you not think as an elected official of the region do you not think that you should be willing and able to act on a moments notice? I know this is not about you, TRE, but you make this comment and you are not a member of the WA. If it brings these things to to region, why are you not a member too?

I will note that I am President-King for life until there is a want for an election (or simple replacement) of myself. I have stated several times that I am simply the guiding force of the party in its birthing pains. Should there ever be a want for a replacement I'm all for it Also note, I am not an elected offical of the region. Should I be interested in representing the region I would become a WA immediately. However I am not interested at this time due to time constraints during the summer. The Speaker must be VERY active to keep tabs on the political happenings of the region, and act on them.

#3: So you are a part of 2 different groups but are unhappy with the results you've derived from them? Why should we vote for you when you cannot get your own house in order? I looked back on what Mazano wrote and I did not see anything about being unhappy with the groups he has helped to put together. The are not where we would like them to be now. I cannot see what part becomes "unhappy." Putting groups together takes initiative and participation. Alot of the initiative comes from the members who organize the groups. The fact that Marzano has taken the initiative to help, the initiative to encourage the council to open the assembly, and the initiative to get it organized say alot about his intentions.
