I'm still in high school, senior year and work part time at Safeway. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do after I graduate. My uncle says I should go into the military because the discipline would do me some good. So HE says *laughing uncontrollably* I think if I do that I'd like to join the Air Force. Decisions, decisions. I almost don't want ot leave high school. It's really ugly out there!

Well that's what happens when you get mortgages that you clearly could not afford And hey grave robbing was common practice a few hundred years ago so don't feel too bad

Full time student here who works part time at a used book store near the university. Obviously, the book store gig is temporary until I get our of school. Two more years to go. I'm majoring in Business Administration but I'm starting to have some doubts. I read the other two post here about changing majors and wasting time at school. It's true, you have to have a real solid plan otherwise you just waste time and money.

General degrees are always a bit rough I've found. I'm going for accounting as I just pretty much flipped a coin Not regretting it yet, but I suppose it could happen What doubts you having Oz?

Yav: So.....was Los Angeles a cesspool? Lol No, I don't think it was a cesspool when I lived there. I grew up there and lived there for a while several years ago after being in the Bay Area of a couple of years. I actually liked it more than SF Bay Area.

So you want to know about my job. I actually love my job, but it has it's moments. Some of my clients are a real pain in the ass. I'm an auditor for a large auditing firm based out of New York. I work at the Phoenix office right now. I do mostly asset and systems audits for our state and county govt clients. Sometimes I do SOX compliance with some of our larger corporate accounts. I do more travelling than I want sometimes. And because of the sensitivity of our clients, sometimes I have to "go dark" for couple of days while I'm on assignment. I'd like to open my own accounting and auditing group one of these days. The longer the economy slumps and crawls, the longer it'll take me to get that going.

So Bas do you miss California or glad to be out of the hell hole? Also that job does sound pretty interesting actually, what don't you like about travelling around though? Bored of it? Now why would you have to go dark on some of your assignments? Is the nature of the work you do that secretive or something?

I work for Kromas SA de CV that is a company based in Mexico City. They do audits and make process evaluations. We do a lot of work for Comex (a paint company) franchises, OXXO drug store chains, and some supermarket chains throughout Mexico. I work from the regional office in Tijuana that is about 35 miles north from where I live. I travel too much. I am out of town many times two weeks every month. I do some work from home when I am not in the field. I am an auditor who checks mostly to make sure store locations are in compliance with their company's rules. It is not very difficult. I have been with this company for one year. Before that I worked with the federal government in the tax collections division at the Ensenada port customs. The government decided to have my department combined with Tijuana and I was laid off.

......your Mexican? Lol just had to say it Honestly though Mexico question for you, the whole drug war thing, is it as bad as the newspapers make it out to be? I will say this though, your job sounds fantastically easy I'm guessing it's not all that easy, but you make it sound like a cushy job.

I work for Wells Fargo and started with them about two years ago as a part time teller. Now I'm working in new accounts and I'm starting to get trained to do some loan processing and certifications. I'm also a night time student. This year is my final year at community college. I got all my GE classes done and I'm looking to transfer and get my BS in Finance. I'm not sure what school to finish at and I think I've been procrastinating a little 'cause I really need a break. Between school and work I got not much time left.

Have to say being a Coffee server sounds a lot harder then being an auditor. Coffee servers have to deal with idiot people who want to pay ungodly amounts for substandard coffee.
Also Pon have to say, you may claim to be procrastinating but honestly you got your foot in the door at a large company, getting an education, and moving up in the company. Win freaking win

I was born and raised there and when I went back, I lived in a nice area. But, I have to say there's nothing like San Francisco. I'd rather go back to the Bay Area if I had a choice. I lived in Millbrae just outside SF. I had a nice view of the bay and SF was just a BART ride away. I never had to drive to work. It was great!

Crap...I forgot to answer the other part of your q (and the girlfriend's bitching again...f*ck, I don't care what color dress she puts on just as long as she looks hot...don't ask me which handbag goes with the shoes, I ain't a fag. Go ask your gay BFF! What's wrong with these women?)
OK. I'm not the secretive one, it's them. Because we do a lot of surprize audits with the county and some cities, they want extreme confidentiality with all aspects of the audit. We're not even supposed to say which depts get hit. You'd think I work for the CIA or something. OK...now I got to go watch her model 10 or 15 pairs of shoes before she decides which ones go the best. And she'll probably pick the first ones she put on after she's done trying all the others. I only put up with this crap because the sex is outrageous!!
