Here is the first Regional Monthly Update that I sent to members on the NationStates forum.
Continental Union & Alliance Update for March 2012
Greetings, Nations of the Continental Union & Alliance!
This is Dragos of [nation]Dragosnia[/nation] and [nation]Dragostania[/nation], your Continental Union Minister of Internal Relations. Every month around the middle of the month, I will send out an update on what is going on in your regions so that everyone knows about events and activities in progress. As you may already know, most of our activities take place on our offsite forum (www.continentalunion.proboards.com), and we encourage members to register there and participate. Please know what we are a “no pressure” region, which means that members can create their own NationStates experience without being coerced into signing up for this or that. Here is what is going on in our regions so far:
--We have started a very aggressive recruiting campaign to increase our membership and activities on our forum. Moño of [nation]Etruria Regalea[/nation], the Recruiting Minister, and Dalmato of [nation]Dalmato-Croatia[/nation] have been working hard to bring in more nations to the region. But to continue this program, they need more members to sign up for recruiting. Please telegram one of them if you are interested.
--Exarchos of [nation]Cappadocia Major[/nation], the Minister of Foreign Relations, has been negotiating with several regions to establish diplomatic relations. This gives our regions more exposure in NationStates that encourages additional members to move to our region. He is also working on several alliances that will create more roleplay scenarios, which means more activities for our members too. Exachos is also looking for members who would like to serve as ambassadors to our allied regions. Please telegram him on NS or reply to his thread on the offsite forum.
--Xanxabara of [nation]Xanxabara[/nation], our new Regional Chancellor, is also working with the Recruitment Ministry and Foreign Relations Ministry to help them in their efforts to increase our regional influence and exposure. She has also mentioned in Chancellery meetings that she is looking to petition the Founder’s Council to open up the Minister of Roleplay position that was approved by Council last year. She is also working with others to create RPG scenarios, including working with Basileus of [nation]Byzantium Romanum[/nation] to accelerate the opening of the Continental Exchange for economy roleplays.
--Imperator of [nation]Imperial Crown Knights[/nation], the Region’s Founder, Sabastos of [nation]Teutonic Alliance[/nation], the Count-Palatine, and Moño have been working together with The West Pacific to establish diplomatic relations and become part of an inter-regional alliance called the “NS Republic.” This alliance and our relationship with The West Pacific will help us increase our influence, activities, and membership because of exposure the Regions will receive.
--The Founder’s Council has several issues up for discussion this month. The Continental Alliance is petitioning the Council for additional autonomy. Sabastos is sponsoring a trust application for the Region’s first political party, “The Progressive Conservatives” to be headed by “President-King” TRE of [nation]Ruescher[/nation]. The Council is also reviewing a new badge program for posting activities on the offsite forum.
--A special mention goes to three members of our Region who are also NationState veterans. They have been active on our forum and have are working to create some very interesting and exciting RPGs. TRE of [nation]Ruescher[/nation] and G-Tech (who is currently on sabbatical) are constructing an interactive, futuristic RPG called “End War.” Space is running out, so please visit the RP board on the forum to sign up while space is still available.
