Recently the Canadian city of Lethbridge was hit by raiders coming from Montana. This has been the 6th raid in nearly three months, these attacks have been perpetrated by many small groups of militiamen armed with weapons obtained from abandoned US military bases, the attacks seem fairly random and with varying degrees of success. The local Militia and police force of Lethbridge were able to hold back the attackers and keep them from entering the city through the residential areas, possibly saving thousands. Roughly a dozen families have been left without homes, and many more injured, terrified and missing personal possessions. The city of 150,000 got off lucky for the most part, the raiders having been pushed from the industrial park with heavy loses by the Canadian Armed Forces.
Canada's Meritarch went on record at a press conference this week saying it was "Fortunate" That more weren't injured, physically or financially. He also said those who stood in defense of their community
"showed the true spirit of the North."
Having mentioned that the stragglers left over from the incident were tracked back to a small rural town in Montana, he was asked if anything would be done in retaliation. He responded that
"Our Regulators have already been dispatched to investigate this site, once they have completed their investigation, they will give the Army the go-ahead to raze it to the ground. To prevent further terrorist operations."
and when asked about the problem of border security he said
"It is a resolution none of us like to think about, but the worlds largest militarized border may be our only option given the circumstances..."
