Sometimes that happens. It happens to me all the time. That's why I don't take on responsibilities like that. I just come on to post when I see something interesting.

@ Adriaticus: I personally think activity is one of those things that each person sets for themselves. Case in point! I post here when I feel like it/remember this place exists since I don't really have responsibilities here. (Though the End War blokes might disagree) Participation, I believe, helps the region grow and attract new members because it speeds the immersion time, and to that end I would definently like more of it in general. On that note, if elected as Speaker I will work to encourage recruiting and forum denizen retention, which feeds into my larger point about how a Speaker has to be active. You see, legislature, votes, debates etc wait for no man; so while any given regional member may not need to be especially active in their posting in the Assembly (due to the lack of a need to understand and be up to date on every nuance of the Assembly), the Speaker must be very active and able to respond to questions, guide the debate on issues, and other various functions at any time. If we need something to go to a vote then having he-who-is-in-charge-of-voting only be on once every two weeks is.... detrimental to the political process at best, downright stifling at worst. On your second question about roleplaying Minister, I am all for the creation of the position. That said, I believe we need to more competently define said Minister's roles and responsibilities. By no means should he/she be the exclusive creator of our RPs, but should instead encourage and enable others to initiate RPs, and all in all act as global Mod in case RP mods get out of hand/wish to participate in their own ideas. My two cents on RP Minister. @ Bas Rom: I believe that I agree with many when I say that the adjustments to our Constitution are of the foremost importance. Of course, that is due to my candidacy for Speaker, the position of which is mainly concerned with the legal framework of our government and the running of our region. We need to address the lack of an amendment clause, which has been put on hold until the conclusion of Speaker elections, formulate the creation of Assembly procedures and the Judicial branch, and in general get our lovely regional administration hopping along. Obviously we must not throw out the baby with the bath water so to speak; our current Constitution is a complex and nuanced document, and to discard it post haste would cheapen the work of those who created such a detailed framework for our government, not to mention leave us in a relatively anarchic state until another equal document could be established. Which, knowing this region, could easily be a matter of months. On a personal non-Speaker-Candidate note I also would like to encourage more recruiting to get some fresh faces in here. More voices and opinions are never bad in my mind, and the same should hold true in the forum. @ Exarchos: See above P.S. Everyone please disregard any mentioning of schizophrenia in the above post. You didn't hear it from me.
