I don't know why but the admins didn't tell us about this but they installed a new "skin" for the forum. If you noticed the forum looked a little different when you access the site to login, that's the new skin. This is the one they were using on the Alliance Test Board...I got confused when I went to sign in here. I had to do a double take.
I prefer the new one. It's cleaner and less busy. If you want to have the new skin appear when you login, all you need to do is go to your profile, hit "modify profile" and then scroll almost all the way down and it will ask you what skin you want. The new one is called "Alliance Blue" On the test board they're working on creating some interesting color combos, including a green, black & white, and grey with reds or blues. They look a little funcky right now, but they're still working on them. I saw one there with TRE's colors and the sword/globe image as part of the background. I'll keep you all posted.

Oh man! I thought something was wrong when I noticed it. I've never been to the test board so I've got no idea about that. I like the new one better. Thanks for telling us how to change it.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! The other one wasn't bad...and it was a better color combo than the original CU one. That paisley pattern was starting to remind me of the wallpaper in the "parlor" of my grandma's house in Beograd (Serbia). Don't get me wrong, I have very fond memories of my few visits to see grandma in the old country, but not so much for her wallpaper!  Now, I'd like to see a skin with the colors of my flag. The green one you guys have on the tester is ok (small letters), but it needs to get pumped up a couple of notches. |

Clearly my flag would be a better option for colors Honestly though god damn one of those skins look terrible, this red/pink thing is just painful on the eyes. Now I have christmas themed skin in the background |

The newer one looks sharper and cleaner. The Xmas theme...ah...I can take it or leave it. The one you're talking about TRE is the original color. I think they were trying to get something that matched the regional colors at one time. I'm not much for earthtones either. But, the background on that one is almost the same as the terra cotta color of your flag! A black, gold, reddish combo really wouldn't look that bac.

The "Xmas one" is actually just a temporary variation on what we'll call our default skin. In Jan the snowflakes will go back to the dark blue. The other skins will be available once Card or Dragos have altered the text colors a bit. They're suing a bright yellow on some of the darker backgrounds and it looks too bright and glaring.

The new one looks sharper without all those gradients. I could do without the snowflakes though. But I guess that's only seasonal so I'll put up with it for a couple more weeks.
