Just a pokedy-poke at whoever does these things (Imperator). I've noticed we have a featured nation thing on our left sidebar, which keeps telling me every two weeks that someone should be featured there.
Not really complaining, but my OCD just twinged. Is this something that will be coming online at some point? Is it something I could do to keep it off the shoulders of our mighty admins?

To answer your question...we have a post in the now-named "Continental Broadcast" board where members can post a little something about their nation and/or current events in heir nation. No one has made a serious post. We were thinking to select at random and just do a very brief summary on that nation. Time, time...what a precious and scarce resource. Here is an example of admins asking for members to take an interest in some of these things, but no one takes the request seriously. Would you like to be featured, G-Tech? I just might put something in for you so you don't see the same old text.

Ha! No, I don't particularly wish to be featured, but yes the blank text was vexing me. A time issue is it? I'd be happy to take care of it if there was some way you could give me permission to modify it, but if not I was just curious what the dealio was.

It doesn't take but five minutes to change the text and save it. Actually it looks like they took part of your factbook entry and pasted it with a comment on your activities here on the forum. They (Imp, Yav or Card) took those other two useless info boxes too. I think because they were further down the forum page, they always got missed or forgotten about.

Or...we can put back the info box danglers we took off and entitle one of them as the "Featured Nations Hall of Fame." We can leave it with a "coming soon" text for about a year or so and then spotlight your nation there. How does that grab you?  We need some more emoticons on here. This depends on the people who you talk to. Sometimes busy is good only if you can make a way around it. Sometimes busy can be too messy or cluttered.

I'm personally of the opinion more is more. Given the odd congruence of both meaning and linguistic structure.
Also I like having lots to do: I get on here when I'm bored, so time-fillers are just dandy in my opinion.

Ya but none of the mass of information changes on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis! It's literally repeats of repeats! So I don't even notice changes anymore as I just zone it all out

Ha! Sometimes if you want something done, you have to do it yourself, right? I purposely told Cardecion and Letor that we should feature G-Tech first because he made the post about the info box and I knew also that TRE would cry that he was overlooked. So it appears that everything came out the way I hoped. |
