We've put the last article of the charter out for a vote but I still have some issue with the delegate spot. It looks like more than half our members have either opted out of the WA or just choose not to be a member. That's fine. Right now because not everyone is active on the forum because of rela life situations, it makes it hard to post WA props for a vote by all the members. I was thinking that the founder should be able to regulate the function of the delegate's office depending on how active the region's membership is.
Should the delegate be able to vote on resolutions with or without the member's approval? Should there be a poll for every proposal? Should we just not participate in the wa as a region but still have the delegate job available? These are things we need to think about before we complete the charter and get the whole thing approved. What do you guys think?

I think I agree. I am not sure what membership in the WA is really good for. I think it is more for roleplay things. I joined only to endorse the region representitive. It seems that the delegate job can change with the number of WA members and how many people participate in the forum. I agree.

Yah. I can see everybody's point with this. It's a problem because the resolutions pop up every couple of days and only last one or two days before they close the polls and move on. There's no way to tell when they appear. With a small number of members, this would create a problem. I only got wa membership because I wanted to be the delegate and get admin powers that no one (sab, imp and acry) thinks I should get. But, yah, I guess you have to have lots of time to rp and be logged in on the wa forums to get your money's worth. I agree with this. Let's just reword that section to include this idea as long as there aren't any major objections.

Hmmm...the part about no one letting you be a power hog sounds like sour grapes to me! ;D (There...I used an emoticon!)
Well. I can agree with this. Why don't we just say that how the delegate office works can be up to the Founder but with a review by council so that it is not so arbitrary. How does that sound?

I agree with Dragos. Unless you want to be really involved in this kind of roleplay, there is no real reason to be a member except to endorse the regional delegate. That is why I applied for membership. I know Letor had some problems with his membership and resigned. I think participating as a region should be optional and depending on how many active members there are.

OK. Since Article Six is now approved, we can go ahead and post the entire charter. I will go through and edit the portion about the delegate to reflect these comments. I agree with everyone about the WA. Many regions do not participate. Unless you have quite a few people on the forums all the time, it is hard to post polls on WA resolutions for everyone to approve or review. You are right, Yuyis, it is another kind of roleplay that requires time and attention. The resolutions really do not have an affect on the game itself or the outcome of a nation's profile.

I'd like to see what the final outcome on this issue is on the new revised charter. I'm closing this topic since I think we're pretty much done.

The outcome is I edited that part a bit and made a vague reference to the founder being the one to figure out what the delegate's duties are. In light of that I'll need to know what you or the council wants me to in the delegate position. I'm at a loss here. I'll post something in the council forum.
I will tell you I agree more and more with Yuyi's comment about getting really involved with the WA rps for it to be worth it. I barely have enough time to keep up with getting my stuff done on here. So, I know I don't have more time to spare to post in the wa forum.
