Include Articles of Confed in the Charter

I'd like to start the conversation up about including what we originally talked about with the articles of confederation. I think Yuyis was the one who asked on the IPB board why we would have two constitutional documents. I think she's right. I think we should just briefly state what the other branches are and what they are supposed to do. The details of how they function can be determined by the assembly when it is functional. This seems to be how they do it in Britain. Constitutional law is created by acts of parliament and presidence.

We need to have a structure that changes with the members and their desires. The Charter provides a good foundation and has some flexibility. THe other part should be even more flexible. What does everyone else think about this?

I think this is a good idea. It is better to have one document with all of the basics and not have two different ones. Things change over time and it is good to have a flexible system of laws. I agree with this.

I think you are right. There is no reason why we need two documents for this. I think we should do it.

I agree with all of this. This is one of those things acry was talking about. Too much complexity. I know why you guys wanted to make some things complex but something like this needs to be streamlined. Somethings in the charter are two long and really don't require extra explanations. The state of emergency is one, the census part is another. I elect Imp and Sab to go through the thing again and reduce some of the verbiage and include some basics about the other branches of govt. let's get that done and move on to recruiting and getting other activities up so we can increase our membership and have some fun.

HAHAHAHAHAHA...you should not talk! "What are the difference" I learned English in seondary school and university in Mexico and I even know that it is "What are the differences" with a "s". You guys are funny. This is something I will have to put down as one of the things I like with this region. People have a sense of humor.

I’m editing the charter by moving things around and deleting extra stuff that you guys said was overkill. As I move this stuff around, I have some questions. First, do we have to resubmit each article individually for approval since I am changing them around? And what about the orders we posted as part of this constitution law canon? I still think the first one about the formatting on orders is too much to include. What do you guys think? And what about the descriptions for the other branches of gov’t that were going to be included in the Confederation Articles? No one really told me anything, so what do I do?

Unless anyone else objects, we have already approved these articles as originally required. The only thing different is that we have changed them around a little. The text is essentially as approved originally, so I don' t think we need to reapprove the articles. Remember, this is the final ratification process. What we should do is post the article with the government branches because those are new and never approved.

I can start posts on the government branches for discussion and give it a week for everyone to respond with ideas. Concerning the ROIC, I will take a look at it, and we can see what everyone else says. You might be right.

OK. I posted the government branches section on a new thread. You guys need to look it over and we'll put it on the polls for approval. I also thought that maybe we should edit one of the earlier orders covering the creation of the charter to spell out the new articles. What do you think?
